2011 TRACK RULES
Please read and understand before you sign up
to race!
Riverside
is a Burris Spec Tire Track
1)
NO ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES, DRUGS, OR WEAPONS ALLOWED. Violators will be removed from the premises.
2)
Trailer interior is subject to inspection at gate.
3)
CHILDREN UNDER 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
4)
No profanity or obscene gestures will be tolerated.
5)
No arguing with track officials.
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FLAG-STAND WHILE KARTS ARE RUNNING ON THE
TRACK.
6)
Inappropriate behavior or fighting may result in removal from the
premises, a $500.00 fine (paid in cash to the track), and 2 weeks suspension,
or additional penalties at the discretion of the track. Drivers are responsible
for pit crew members. Pushing or
shoving is a violation. If you get out of your kart you may be disqualified or
suspended.
7)
IF YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED 3 TIMES FOR ANY REASON, YOU WILL LOSE ALL
POINTS AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.
8)
Track Officials may give one warning at their discretion for
rules violations. Track officials on
the grid and scale area have the authority to suspend drivers, crew members or
spectators.
9)
All classes will run the Burris B33A tire. No tire cutting, prepping or conditioning will be allowed. TIRES MUST BE AS MANUFACTURED.
NO “TIRE WASHING CHEMICALS, SOLVENTS,
OR DETERGENTS” ARE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES.
USE PLAIN WATER & CHARLIE’S SOAP ONLY FOR CLEANING.
NO OPEN FLAMES.
REGISTRATION
10) Drivers under
the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete a parental consent form. Drivers
15 years of age and under must have birth certificate on file at track or in
hand at sign up. All drivers (adult or
minor) must sign up IN PERSON.
11)
Late signups may be allowed depending on the lateness of the
hour. Late competitor will be manually
scored and start in the back of the field.
Payout will not be changed.
12)
If you won cash, you are expected to claim your winnings the
night of the event. However, we will
hold your winnings til the next race ONLY.
13)
We do not issue “Show Points.”
14)
Each driver may have 1 substitute per season. You must give notification of a substitute
driver at sign up.
15) Numbers must be
reserved for $5.00 Parking spots may also be reserved for
$25.00 or $75.00 for a power spot for the season. If you purchase a parking spot, it is your responsibility to mark
your spot. (Two pipes with chain work well.) If someone else parks in your spot
because it is not marked, don’t ask us to move them.
16) THERE WILL BE
NO REFUNDS AFTER YOU SIGN UP FOR YOUR CLASS.
GENERAL CONDUCT
17)
NO BICYCLES OR 4 WHEELERS PERMITTED ON PREMISES.
18)
NO DUMPING OF FUEL OR OIL ON GROUNDS OR IN TRASH BARRELS. Oil and/or fuel must be deposited in
green barrels, located adjacent to the pump-around, trash barrels and pit
area. If you are found dumping oil,
methanol, or any chemical on the grounds, you will be suspended permanently. Please put litter in trash barrels
19)
CONDUCT ON THE PLAYGROUND: The playground
area and swingset are provided for CHILDREN ages 5-12 only. Foul language or inappropriate behavior WILL
NOT BE TOLERATED. No climbing on the
slide. VIOLATORS WILL BE REMOVED FROM
THE PREMISES.
20) No karts running during the National Anthem.
EQUIPMENT
21)
MUFFLERS ARE REQUIRED.
Muffler must be clamped & strapped. RLV B91 SPEC.
22) All lead
weights must be bolted to kart & lock-nutted. Weights must be painted white or vibrant color.
23)
Chain guard required in Jr. Sportsman 1 & 2 classes. Loop bumper recommended but NOT
required. **Brake disc guard
recommended in all classes.
24)
All drivers are required to wear protective clothing including
gloves, neck collar, helmet &
jacket. Long hair must be restrained
under helmet. Fire suits are optional
in champ classes.
25) Four (4) number
plates, located on both sides and front and rear of kart are required. You must reserve your kart number
to receive points. NUMBER
PLATES on karts must be NON-REFLECTIVE – black numbers on white, white numbers
on black, yellow on black, BLACK ON
YELLOW PREFERABLE.
26)
After market billet rods in animals and flatheads are
allowed. Rods must meet stock length
specs.
CONDUCT DURING A RACE
27) No pit crew members
or tools of any kind are allowed on the track unless authorized by a track
official. Crew members may assist drivers in the Kid Kart, Rookie, and Junior
classes by cranking a stalled kart, removal of damaged body plastic, installing
the chain, and removing a disabled kart from the track. NO hard parts changes
allowed (tires,etc.) NO tire pressure adjustments, except by the driver. Violaters will be disqualified.
28) NO WET TIRES
ALLOWED ON THE GRID!! FIRST OFFENSE,
YOU WILL BE PUT IN THE REAR. SECOND
OFFENSE – YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
29)
Purple plate classes – Dads may remain in the infield area with a
cranker during the feature to help stalled karts.
30)
All karts are to be pushed, to and from the pit area and
grid. Buggies are not permitted on the
grid. ONE crew member per kart on the
grid.
31)
BEFORE WEIGHING AT THE SCALES, CUT MOTOR OFF AND PUSH YOUR KART ONTO THE SCALES.
32)
There will be 1 round of open practice for youth & adult
combined classes.
33)
Feature events will be restricted to 15 minutes or 20 laps. The feature may be shortened at the
discretion of the track officials due to lateness of the hour. A Red flag stops
the clock. Heats will be restricted to 8 minutes or 10 laps.
34)
We will not wait
for any kart at the grid and we are not responsible if you miss your race. As
soon as one class is off, the next class must line up immediately. The 90 second rule will apply once the karts
are released from the grid..
35)
No crew members are allowed in scale area until track official
opens the gate. Any violation of this
rule will result in disqualification of the driver. Drivers are responsible for crew members. IF YOU ARGUE AT THE SCALE AREA RE: THE
CLAIMER POLICY, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED & NO POINTS OR WINNINGS. If this happens twice, you are disqualified
from that class.
36)
The flagman starts the RACE . Racing begins at the Start line WHICH IS IN TURN 3. No passing or getting out of line until you
pass the start line. If not able to
start on 1st try, we will go to a single file start. Restarts are started at the start line by
the leader. We reserve the right to
shorten the feature due to the lateness of the hour.
37)
No bumping the kart in front of you during any start or
re-start. You will be black flagged!
38)
When the caution comes out, all karts must slow down. If the line-up needs to be reset, the grid
steward will stop the field in Turn 2.
If the red flag comes out, all karts must go to turn 2 and stop.
39)
ALL KARTS INVOLVED IN BRINGING OUT THE CAUTION – go to the rear
of the field. Any kart that spins/stops
to avoid stopped traffic, does not make
contact with another kart, will be returned to their position in the line-up at
the last completed lap.
IF A CAUTION OCCURS DURING THE FIRST
LAP, THE DRIVER/S WHO WERE INVOLVED IN THE CAUTION WILL GO TO THE REAR. The flagman has the discretion to determine
if any driver will be returned to their starting position.
If a driver brings out the caution flag 3 times, he/she will be
black flagged. If you ignore the black
flag at any time, we will stop scoring you and you will be
disqualified.
40)
If you are Black Flagged, you are disqualified and must leave the
track immediately. If you ignore the
black flag, we will stop scoring you and you will be disqualified.
41)
If your chain comes off or your motor quits and you want to stay
in the race, pull to the top side of the track. This will be allowed one time only. The next time, you will be required to exit the track at the
scales. You must weigh in at the scales
to receive points. You cannot re-enter
to finish a race after exiting the track.
42) When the BLUE
FLAG is thrown, you must move to the outside groove and let the faster karts
pass.
43)
A lap is considered COMPLETE WHEN ALL THE KARTS HAVE CROSSED
THE START/FINISH LINE.
44)
If an accident has taken place which required EMS assistance or
ambulance, you are to turn your motor off.
When announced, one (1) crew member will be allowed on the track to
crank your kart.
PROTESTS
45)
Any protest must be made at the scales after everyone has been
weighed in.
Protests must be
filed within 5 minutes after the feature race is completed.
§
You can only protest the kart in front of you .
§
If you finish 4th or 5th and want to protest the 1st place kart,
you must also protest the 3rd & 2nd place finishers.
§
You must finish in the money to protest.
§
It will cost $200.00 to protest and $100.00 to accept.
§
You must have protest money in hand and present it to the track
official at time of protest . (Tech man
receives $50.00) Once the track
official has the protest monies, the teardown will take place. No backing out.
§
If you are protested and decline, you will be automatically
disqualified for the whole event and will not receive points or pay off.
§
If you are protested and decline the protest 3 times, you will be
SUSPENDED for the season.
§
If found illegal for motor, tires, or fuel tech, you will lose
points, payout, and the $100.00 acceptance fee, & you will be suspended for
2 races.
§
WKA tech on motor.
§
NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PROTESTS OR ENTRY FEES.
§
Both parties must stay for the tear down.
§
Plates may be protested for a fee of $10.00.
§

classes.
46)
FRIDAY RAINOUTS MAY BE RE-SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY –
OR POINTS WILL BE GIVEN, AT TRACK’S DISCRETION
DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF RAINOUTS.
Points will be given to those who signed up and paid the entry fees. No refunds.
47)
Each driver must run at least 2/3 of the COMPLETED POINTS EVENTS PER
HIS/HER CLASS to qualify for end of season awards.
48)
The Points Fund will accumulate from each points race. 100% of
the fund will be distributed to the Class Champions in $CASH$ at the end of the
season. Cash + Trophies will be awarded
to the top 3 drivers in each class. We
will award only trophies to 4th & 5th places in youth classes. Points results will be posted on the
bulletin board at the track, and also on the web page.
